Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Plant Manager the basic and chief function of the Maintenance Supervisor is to perform activities relating to building and machine maintenance throughout the entire facility.  Supervises maintenance personnel on all shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Review and adjust the work schedule to meet production needs and commitments.  Emergency call-out 24 hours/day is required.
  2. Ensure all facility equipment is in proper working condition.
  3. Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records on all equipment.
  4. Ensure all tools and supplies are available for equipment maintenance.
  5. Obtain necessary permits as required and assure work performed meets applicable codes.
  6. Recommend improvements in operation and on equipment to improve quality and productivity of work.
  7. Development and maintain preventative maintenance program for all equipment.  Work with outside vendors as required.
  8. Serve as a role model for all personnel through demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to do whatever it takes to do quality work.
  9. Ensure compliance with WPC policies pertaining to methods, procedures, records, reports, conduct, etc. of all employees under your direction.
  10. Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts/supplies to ensure productivity.
  11. Recommends training needs to Human Resources.
  12. Integrity regarding confidential and proprietary information.

  1. Maintain strong employee relationships encouraging suggestion for improvements in their individual areas of operation.
  2. Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems.

Experienced Maintenance Tech

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing general building maintenance and repairing all converting equipment to minimize downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
  2. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems use.
  3. Demonstrate ability to plan and schedule maintenance work, assign work to other maintenance classifications according to their abilities and limitations.
  4. Follow up all work in order to insure repairs and work are performed properly.
    1. Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
    2. Demonstrates ability to teach and uphold proper maintenance and safety procedures.
    3. Order parts for particular machines when needed.
    4. Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
      1. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
      2. Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
      3. Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.

Knowledge, skill and Ability:

  • Education/Training:  Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalency.  A current Lift Truck Operator License is required, along with other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.  A well-qualified candidate will have an  Electrical certification and  a maintenance degree or in pursuit of a maintenance degree .
  • Experience:  Comprehensive maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.  Experience within the corrugated industry and knowledge of machinery used in sheet plants.  Full understanding of customer service philosophy and procedures of the Company.

Shipping and Receiving Coordinator/Lead

Position Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator will perform all office procedures required for efficient operation of this department.  This position serves as back up to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Assist and serve as a backup for daily billing responsibilities.  Create bills of lading as required.
  2. Schedule deliveries and create load lists.
  3. Perform activities related to raw stock / warehouse receiving.
  4. Maintain accurate inventory control using the Harry Rhodes management system.
  5. Assist in the housekeeping and layout of the warehouse area.
  6. Consistently show ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
  7. Makes deliveries with straight-truck, as needed.



Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Human Resource Manager the basic and chief function of the Receptionist is to answer the telephone and greet visitors in a pleasant, courteous manner.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other tasks as assigned):

  1. Answer telephone, screen and route calls, take messages as needed.
  2. Greet the public. Ascertain the nature of their business and direct them to appropriate person or department.
  3. Sort, open, and distribute mail twice daily.
  4. Assist with projects as requested by various WPC Managers.
  5. Track daily Bookings Register information (daily).  Compile weekly report for Management meeting.
  6. Sort and re-file customer jackets and print cards (daily)
  7. Create new jackets: type labels, color code and file (daily)
  8. Make copies, send faxes, prepare mailings, file, etc, as required.
  9. Distribute job applications with required test, as appropriate.
  10. Type correspondence.
  11. Keep names & numbers in phone system current.  Update and distribute WPC phone lists. Program speed dials for phone and fax.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Is the most centralized “hub” of the company; usually first seen and first to speak to customers.  This means maintaining a neat, orderly work area and pleasant attitude.
  2. Promotes a positive working environment supporting Wisconsin Packaging Corp’s teamwork concept.
  3. Enhances job growth through continuing education, as necessary.
  4. Assists the management team with special projects as assigned.


Outside Sales Representative

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the General Manager the basic and chief function of the Outside Sales Representative is to secure orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer or by phone. This candidate must have corrugated experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop sales territory.
  • Secures opportunities to quote on customer’s packaging requirements.
  • As assigned, handles customer accounts and ensures orders are completed to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
  • Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
  • Completes (neatly and thoroughly) a sales request form for orders and estimate requests as needed.
  • Clearly communicates customer specifications for each job to help ensure quality completion.
  • Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Submits weekly activity reports concerning customer-related activities and problems.
  • Submits expense and itinerary reports on a weekly basis.
  • Call upon customers concerning late invoices.
  • Ensures that the customer is our first priority.
  • Promotes a positive working environment supporting Wisconsin Packaging Corp’s teamwork concept.
  • Enhances job growth through continuing education, as necessary.
  • Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by the General Manager.

Work Relationship and Scope:

Reports directly to the General Manager. Is a member of the sales team and must maintain a positive team attitude toward all WPC employees. Works directly with WPC Customer Service Representatives, Estimators, and Design Engineers.

Measure of Performance:

  • Fulfillment of job responsibilities by meeting all customer and WPC specifications for service, quality, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Meets/Exceeds annual sales goals.
  • Responds to customer requests within 24-hours.
  • Ensure the highest maintenance of department standards and customer good will.
  • Effective service-orientated performance and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Stays within expense budget.
  • Takes care of company property.
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Integrity regarding confidential and proprietary information.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Education/Training : Requires B.A. degree or 3-years experience in the corrugated industry. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a vehicle.
  • Experience : Previous outside sales experience preferred. Full understanding of customer service philosophy and procedures. Ability to keep “customer satisfaction” as a guiding factor. Corrugated Experience is a must.
  • Requires skill in: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills are required to deal effectively with customers (both internal and external). Legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms; telephone etiquette skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; ability to solve problems and make adjustments as needed; capable of dealing with deadline pressures; integrity regarding confidential information.
  • Additional Desirable Qualifications : Self-motivated, personable, extroverted personality and well organized. Experience with various computer programs.

Working Conditions:

Work is split between driving and meeting customers at their worksite and the WPC office. The majority of the time will be driving (in all types of weather) to meet with current or potential customers.

Physical Requirements:

Work requires various periods throughout the day of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Some repetitive motion involving the telephone and computer.
